There’s a new research report out from Nucleus Research that focuses on what they call ‘edge’ applications, those “that fall outside the core functionality of software to automate processes, increase productivity and gain greater returns from their technology investment.” In one sector, their research showed ‘edge’ apps deliver 4.2 times the return on investment (ROI) of core implementations.
In this report, Nucleus, a global provider of investigative, case-based technology research and advisory services, calls ServiceChannel an ‘edge’ app in the enterprise resourcing planning (ERP) space as it’s used alongside ERP systems. In particular, they highlighted how:
“As an edge application, Nucleus expects ServiceChannel to have positive effects on the ROI of core ERP implementations, due to improved quality of service, cost savings, heightened security, brand consistency, and analytic capabilities.”
Key Benefits of ServiceChannel Facilities Software with ERP Systems
They also “identified key benefits of implementing ServiceChannel that, when used alongside ERP systems, lead to a positive ROI:

- Cost Savings
- Risk Mitigation
- Analytics Capabilities”
Nucleus also called out corresponding benefits of ServiceChannel’s facilities software for commercial contractors in the report:

The ServiceChannel Service Automation platform’s open architecture and broad range of capabilities increasingly enables departments enterprise-wide to see value from the system. Via open APIs, it integrates with leading enterprise productivity and resource planning applications as well as with many other supplier and service provider applications.
By connecting with accounting, CRM, finance and/or ERP systems, the world of facilities and its corresponding actionable data more and more forms the core of how multi-location organizations view their operations and performance.
