FAQs

What is changing with API pricing?

ServiceChannel now offers fully supported API integration with pricing based on annual work order volume. Now you have a reliable, cost-effective way to streamline operations with your ServiceChannel customers, right from your own system.

As part of this rollout, we are also partnering with popular field service management systems (FSMs) including BuildOps and others to build and offer an all-new integration specific to the FSM, fully supported by both the FSM and ServiceChannel.

Why did ServiceChannel make this change?

ServiceChannel made this change so the efficiency and cost-saving benefits of API access would be available to providers of all sizes, not just the largest.

How does an API integration benefit me?

• With API access, you can streamline workflows between your own business management system and ServiceChannel, essentially managing your ServiceChannel customer work orders from your own system.
• This eliminates the need to move back and forth between systems, reduces manual work (no double data entry), improves data flow, reduces data entry errors, and can easily cut your work order operations costs in half.
• A ServiceChannel integration gives prospective new customers confidence that you are an experienced ServiceChannel provider, serious about efficiency and good service, and ready to get started right out of the gate.

How does this new pricing benefit me?

This new pricing structure makes API access to ServiceChannel a workable, affordable, and scalable solution for your business:

Lower barrier to entry: Regardless of your current work order volume, you now have an affordable way to get set up with the advantages of integrating your operating system with ServiceChannel.

High-quality, supported integration: ServiceChannel will help ensure that required APIs are properly configured at all tiers, enabling seamless data flow and a streamlined experience.

Predictable path to growth: Pricing is aligned to your annual volume of work orders. Start at a lower tier and move up as you grow.

Are all the ServiceChannel APIs available for all tiers?

Yes, all the ServiceChannel APIs are available at all tiers.

What is the set-up fee?

For custom integrations, there is a $1,000 set-up cost at all tiers. For FSM integrations, the setup cost is $500.

How long does the set-up normally take?

From start to go-live is typically a few days to a few weeks.

What support can I expect from ServiceChannel?

• The ServiceChannel Professional Services team will reach out to you via email to initiate the set-up and schedule a kickoff call.
• The team will be available during setup to answer questions and help with troubleshooting. Or you can opt for more structured approach with pre-scheduled check-ins for guidance and support.
• After go-live, the team will work with you to confirm functionality and help resolve any issues.

Do all integrations get the same level of support?

Yes, providers in all paid tiers receive the same level of premium support. FSM pre-built integrations also include the support of the FSM.

How do I know which tier I fall into?

Your initial tier is based on your volume of ServiceChannel work orders over the 12 months prior to submitting your application. ServiceChannel will confirm that volume when you submit your application.

Will I contract directly with ServiceChannel for this API?

Yes, you will contract directly with ServiceChannel for API access, whether you’re using an FSM solution or building your own.

What is the term of the contract with ServiceChannel?

Your contract is for 3 years.

What happens if I have a freemium FSM integration and exceed 250 work orders?

For all tiers, both FSM and custom, your work order volume will be evaluated annually and your pricing readjusted automatically as specified in your contract.

How do I get started?

If you use a Field Service Management (FSM) system that offers a ServiceChannel integration, reach out to your FSM contact to get started.

For your own custom API integration, fill out the request form on the Integration Services page on ServiceChannel.com. A ServiceChannel specialist will reach out to confirm your tier, guide you through signing the contract, and support your set up.

How do I know which FSMs offer a customied ServiceChannel integration?

The list of FSMs offering a co-supported integration with the new tiered pricing is continually growing. Contact your FSM representative to find out whether and when they will offer a new ServiceChannel integration.
