The 2018 Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) conference was held this month in the music city, Nashville, Tennessee. According to PRSM, this year was the largest attendance for this conference of multi-site retail and restaurant FM professionals.
The conference featured best-in-class retailer education sessions, vendor and retailer ‘Quick Connect’ sessions, and an exhibit hall of more than 300+ exhibitors in the facilities industry.
The PRSM show opened with a captivating keynote presenter who discussed how to navigate consumer interests in the digital age. Keynote presenter, Gary Vaynerchuck, entrepreneur and four-time New York Times bestselling author, discussed how he became successful and built his career on paying attention to where consumerism is going next.
With his online vlog, DailyVee and the #AskGaryVee Show, Gary highlights what it’s like to be a public figure and CEO in today’s digital age. Gary is also co-founder of VaynerMedia, a full-service digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients.
ServiceChannel Leadership Recognized at PRSM
ServiceChannel CEO, Tom Buiocchi, participated in a PRSMTv interview with PRSM CEO Bill Yanek. They discussed the major trends that both ServiceChannel and PRSM are seeing in retail facilities management today, as well as the impact that certain technologies, like IoT are having on the retail space.
The pair also discussed Tom’s recent appointment to the PRSM Board of Directors. Tom was nominated by a committee of PRSM retail and service provider members, and joins representatives from Gap, Walmart, TD Bank, Staples Canada, Nike, Luxottica Retail and adidas America, among others on the board.
During the Awards luncheon, ServiceChannel co-founder, Steven Gottfried, received the 2018 Lawrence W. Whelan PRSM Lifetime Achievement Award amongst his peers and colleagues. The award honored Steven for his dedication and service to the retail facilities maintenance industry. This award recognizes PRSM members who have distinguished themselves by career-long contributions to the retail facilities management profession.
Service Automation for Both Retailers and Contractors
During expo hours, both retailers and contractors stopped by the ServiceChannel booth to connect with our team members and discuss Service Automation technology and the most recent updates to the ServiceChannel dashboard and Contractor Scorecard.
The Contractor Scorecard has been significantly updated with a number of new metrics and KPIs to provide greater insight to both retailer/subscribers and contractors. One improvement is separate KPIs for repair and maintenance work orders and separate grades for each of these categories. The feedback’s already been quite positive.
